Chelsea have confirmed to release four players, namely Paulo
Ferreira, Yossi Benayoun, Florent Malouda, and Ross Turnbull. Their contract
expired as of June 30, 2013.
As reported by Goal, because the presence of Jose Mourinho
to Chelsea, lineup changes were performed. According to the manager, where four
players are considered to be redundant.
Ferreira has played over 217 games for Chelsea. During the
defense of the Blues, he also has to get three Premier League titles and a
Champions League title.
Benayoun himself arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of
2010 to replace Joe Cole. Unfortunately, players from the Israel failed to gain
a place in the first team due to frequent injuries.
Malouda was purchased from Olympique Lyon in 2007. He has
won several domestic and European titles over the defense of Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Turnbull purchased from Middlesbrough in 2009 as a reserve
goalkeeper Petr Cech.
